The Quickie Series: Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish Review
Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish Review
The Quickie Series
Not unlike a Swedish Fish—or Scandinavian Swimmer, depending on if you shop at the snack store otherwise known as Trader Joe’s—the Elevated Surf Craft 4’6” Minni Fish is a gem of a swallowtail snowboard that really knows how to turn on a dime and float the good float.
In last year’s review of the Elevated Surf Craft 4’6” Minni Fish, we I talked about how this Lebowitz Original (not to be confused with dear Annie) was a “lofty snow surfer—two parts corduroy-carving animal, all parts modern art”—that made “the perfect companion for riders who appreciate all the pieces of the whole, including the whole itself.”
Hopping back on this hawkish swallowtail board today, in drifts of new that ranged from 2” on up to 5”, I was reminded of how, indeed, the Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish is a lofty snow surfer companion through and through. It’s ride is effortless, superbly nimble, and playful as fuuuck. Kind of like one of my other faves, but different, you know?
Mini-Review of the Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish. Reminds Me of a Fugees’ Song.
Also known as a “surfboard for snow,” the Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish truly exudes what its moniker proclaims. Bopping around in the woods on the 4’6” Minni Fish this morning and afternoon felt like what I would assume it would feel like to be able to boost off a salty wave lip on a shortboard. Not that I can do anything remotely close to “boosting” on a surfboard, but I can at least stand up in the whitewater and comprehend how that sensation intersects with the snowsurfing sensation.
After a few hours in shred city with the Minni Fish and a sweet new friend I like to call cat man (secretly, to myself, in the most endearing way), I was fully satisfied and fully reminded of how easy it is to turn the that beauty. For such a wide board (the shorter length contributes to agility here, obvs), goddamn the Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish can feather itself between trees and maneuver its way through the land of lumps that is Bachelor’s Cloudchaser zone.
Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish, Ya Bish.
OK, here’s where I wrap this thing up and leave you with some final field notes from the day. Whether it needed wax or the shorter length was the main culprit (perhaps a combo of the two?), the Elevated Surf Craft Minni Fish was a bit slower on the extended flats. No matter, though. What it didn’t have on the long, snowy plains it made up for tenfold elsewhere (read: powsurfing, tree shimmying, powder riding, pow).
If you’re in Mammoth, hit up Elevated Surf Craft on their Insta and ask about demoing one of these crimson cuties. If you ride Bachelor and want to head out for some turns, hit us up and we’ll make the magic happen.

Here’s that Fugees’ track I was talking about.
